Highlights of Innovate Magazine Issue 2 (February 2014)

Innovate Magazine Competition Innovate E-magazine issue 2 is where the features, sections and structure of the magazine long-term really come into focus. Where issue 1 was about establishing a name, a theme and ongoing features, issue 2 is all about establishing the long-term direction and headline sections of the Magazine. We have built upon issue 1, and kept all of the good work as well as building in several new major features.

Issue 2 has an interview with best-selling author and historian Brien Foerster, expert on the pre-history of ancient Peru, South America and the Pacific. Brien's book 'Crimson Horizon: The Mysterious Sea Kings of the Pacific' is reviewed in detail by Grey Wolf.

Our Artist Interview of the month, one of these new features, is with Tamala Baldwin, an American singer, performer and rising musical star.

We are happy to help promote the Novella Competition of The Pierce Agency LLC, a 10,000 to 45,000 word novella, terms and conditions apply, see the article in Innovate E-Magazine issue 2 for full details.

We have part 2 of The Library, alternate history by Grey Wolf, and of Beyond Nemesis, a Sherlock Holmes and the Titanic story, by Swaroop Acharjee.

Submissions include 'An Alternate Naval Battle: Leyte Gulf 1945' by Aaron Sargon, an alternate history battle between Japanese and American battleships in World War 2, and 'The Sniper' by Eric J Gates.

Our Art Feature (another new feature) is by KD Rose on Art Zeal, an online community for artists to share their work for free.

The Book Feature of the month is the soon to be released historical novel 'Natalie Tereshchenko - The Other Side' by Elizabeth Audrey Mills, sequel to 'Natalie Tereshchenko - Lady In Waiting'.

We have a Guest Feature by Ingrid Hall on 'Indie and Proud', a year-long blog-and-Facebook-based collaboration between independent authors from around the world, to highlight each other's talents, and the wide range of writing available through the independent sector.

Both the Art Gallery and Poets' Corner launch with half a dozen contributions, whilst the Writers Box section debuts with an article by Rebekah Pierce on the edutainment value of writing historical fiction.

Time of the Darkness by Grey Wolf

In an alternate history, decolonisation of the Americas follows a vastly different timeline, and the British royal family remains preeminent in world affairs.
Competing with a Bonaparte Byzantium and a French Empire under the Murats, the SaxeCoburg British fight on an equal footing for recognition and influence.
