Claire reveals the personal scandal of her abortion to the public and then announces her new cabinet in the same breath. She is kidnapped. As a follow-up, Claire speaks with Jane Davis.
She believes she had a hand in Catherine Durant’s demise. Doug is introduced to Bill Shepherd by Congressman Cole, who also meets with Bill Shepherd.
Doug is approached by Bill Shepherd and asked to join him. Doug, on the other hand, is unwilling to join him. Duncan heads back to his parents’ house. Angry at being deceived about his parentage, Duncan is on the verge of a breakdown.
Bill Shepherd, on the other hand, no longer considers him to be a Shepherd. Shepherd’s malfeasance in the Arcas Corporation is faxed to Janine on the other side.
Later, Claire tells the FBI that Mark Usher is responsible for Tom Yates’ disappearance. In the following days, Doug meets Tom Hammerschmidt, and he claims to be responsible for Rachel’s death, but he refuses to confirm that Frank killed LeAnne, Russo, and Zoe.
It’s not uncommon for three people to be assassinated in a matter of seconds. To ensure that he is the sole beneficiary of Frank’s will, Doug confronts Claire about it.
He then steals a memory chip from the president’s desk. In the following days, Claire pretends to be pregnant with Frank’s child. In other words, the child will receive the entire Underwood estate, leaving Doug with nothing.
Doug returns to the spot where he buried Rachel four months after the fact. Claire, on the other hand, is far along in her pregnancy and will soon revert to her maiden name of Hale.
It reveals that the Shepherds have hired the doctor and that he has attempted to induce labor early. Claire devises a scheme to tarnish Frank’s reputation. To create false stories, Claire employs the Russian troll element of Petrov.
When Cole refuses to sign the bill, she begins blackmailing him in an attempt to get Abruzzo to do the same.
Claire organizes the demonstration at that time to garner public support in her battle against her political adversaries.
Usher and Annette Shepherd intend to assassinate President Hale once Duncan is captured by the FBI for treason.
Later, Janine and the Shepherds separately approach Doug to secure Claire’s downfall. However, he is hesitant to do so for fear of tarnishing Frank’s legacy.
Claire ushers in a new era of government transparency. She announces at a news conference and then sets herself apart from Frank’s conduct.
Douglas offers audio recordings of Frank at this period, as well. As a result, Claire is no longer mentioned in his will. At the same time as Claire’s house of cards is falling apart, she borrows a page from Frank’s book and manufactures an imaginary enemy threat.
A proposal from Claire would allow the government to take action against suspected ICO terrorists who have nuclear weapons. So her war cabinet is enraged!
Seth and Annette, on the other hand, notice Doug and think he’s the perfect person to get rid of Claire, but he needs their help.
In addition to the letter opener and a copy of Frank’s audio recording, Doug also receives a copy of the audio recording. He then proceeds to the Oval Office to meet with her.
On that page, he claims to have murdered Frank. He shot him because he thought he was going to damage his reputation. Using the letter opener, Doug injures Claire and threatens her.
This is what happens after she sees him return: she holds his hand and then quickly stabbings him in the stomach. She covers his lips and tries to suffocate him while he bleeds out on the floor. She then addresses the audience and declares, “No More Pain.”.

Janine gets some information from Doug about Rachel’s whereabouts. Afterward, Doug visits Claire in the Oval Office and tells her he killed Frank because he was damaging his legacy, which he accepts.
Later, Doug tries to stab Claire with the letter opener, but she grabs it and stabs him in the stomach when he backs away.
She suffocates him later after finding him wounded on the floor. We’ll have to wait and see what comes of this.
