Shortly after winning his medal for Entertainer of the Year at the 2021 ACM Awards on Sunday (April 18), he addressed the virtual press room backstage: “I was fortunate not to have a long set of symptoms and whatnot.”

Bryan’s illness with COVID-19 was, to put it mildly, unpleasant, but he recovered swiftly.

As he looks back, he says, “It was still rather tough for several days, but basically, thank God for health,” adding that his wife, Caroline, was instrumental in helping him recover. “Caroline helped nurse me back to health on multiple occasions.
