Sadly, the next season of My Hero Academia won’t begin airing until the fall of 2022. As part of December’s Jump Festa, an exhibition and celebration of all things manga and anime, the announcement was made. While a more exact date was not guaranteed as part of the Jump Festa announcement, The Weekly Shonen Jump magazine recently featured My Hero Academia on its cover, with the more definite Season 6 release date of October 2022.

My Hero Academia also released a Season 6 trailer during Jump Festa. The short clip previews the oncoming war, following Season 5’s relative quiet before the storm. As the climax of everything has come before, the highly anticipated “Paranormal Liberation War” arc will feature some epic battles as well as tragic angst. Here’s the trailer for you to enjoy…

This is just the beginning, of course. The Meta Liberation Army and the League of Villains have united to become the Paranormal Liberation Front five seasons later. Season 5 finished with a post-credit scene showcasing Class 1A peering over a cliff towards a metropolis teeming with villains. “The major incident that would shatter superhuman society will finally begin”… in October 2022.
