“They’d been pitched a lot of stuff in Australia, but nothing that felt significant,” Executive Producer Nathan Mayfield told Now to Love.com on why Netflix chose Tidelands. Everything had seemed authentic to an Australian audience, but [they] hadn’t given any thought to how the show would appeal to a global audience. He also noted that Tideland’s success is due to Netflix’s decision to let the show’s creators “play in worlds that are rarely seen on Australian television—in crime, thriller, and the supernatural.”
What Will Be The Storyline Of ‘Tidelands’ Season 2?
Tidelands, a race of minacious individuals who are half-sirens and half-humans, have invaded Orphelin Bay. According to Greek mythology, sirens are dangerous creatures who use seductive music to lure seafarers to their deaths by drowning them in a shipwreck. There’s little doubt that the second installment will tie into the first. There were five average deaths every season in the first season alone, due to the deaths of several significant characters.
Cal McTeer (Aaron Jakubenko) and her brother Augie (Aaron Jakubenko) were cruelly injured by Ariella (Elsa Pataky) in the first season of the show. Cal, who is said to be half-siren, half-human, could be the next Tidelander queen if she defeats Adrielle. It closes with Cal being recognized by the sirens as they collect her from the shore after defeating Adrielle.
Who All Will Return For ‘Tidelands’ Season 2?
As many characters were killed off in the first season, it’s impossible to determine for sure what will happen in the second. However, let’s just state the obvious and see who all makes a return in part two. Charlotte Best has been cast as Cal McTeer, the new Queen of the Tidelanders, and she will be back for the next fifth season. Fin Little’s Gilles and Chloe De Los Santos’ Bijou were both saved by Cal, so we can anticipate them to return as well. For the second season, Augie and Dylan have recovered from their injuries, so they’ll be back. After her fall as Tidelander Queen, we’re not sure if Elsa Pataky will reprise her role as Adrielle. Richard Davies as Colton Raxter, Dalip Sondhi as Lamar Cloudier, Mattias Inwood as Corey Welch, and Jacek Koman as Gregori Stolin are all possibilities for returning cast members. With Alex Dimitriades as Paul Murder, Peter O’Brien as Bill Sentell, Madeleine Madden as Viola, Caroline Brazier as Rosa, and Hunter Page-Lochard as Jared, they can form a group with the other cast members.
